National Service Scheme (NSS)

Glimpses of Extension Activities

National Service Scheme (NSS) is the CSR window for the Institution. All the extension activities, which benefit the community at large, are carried out under the banner of NSS. For more than a decade, college has organized various activities including establishing the Bookworms Club, Tree Plantation and Blood Donation Camp, Candle March, Medical Camp, Poster-making Competition, Blankets distribution, distribution of toys and clothes to Old-age homes and Orphanages, Village stay under Gram Yatra program to help facilitate the communication of various govt. schemes and also deliver talks on health & hygiene for the villagers,Light project to illuminate huts, support govt. for PM's Jan Dhan Yojana, Aabha Registration and Toilets in every home, Young Voters' Club for awareness of voting rights, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Workshops on AIDS & Cancer awareness, Thalessamia Camp for first year students, Medical Checkups for first year students, Donation for Natural Disaster victims, Narcotics workshop, Fire-Safety awareness, First aid and CPR training by 108 team, Cyber Security and many more. SEMCOM has been appreciated by the society and gathers support for its sensitization towards the societal responsibility.

Book worms' Club

The Book Worms’ Club was started at SEMCOM on 2nd August 2009 in the presence of eminent personalities. The objective of the club is to bring all book lovers together and have review of various books. The Club members meet every first Sunday of the month for book review, presentation and discussion.

Blood Donation

Every year SEMCOM organizes Blood Donation Camp in association with Indian Red Cross Society, Anand. The blood donation camps were well organized with the cooperation of Red Cross Society (Anand). The students and teachers of the college actively participated in the Blood donation camp and a total of 262 units of blood was collected and donated. The event was well coordinated under the guidance of the principal of the college Dr. Preethi Luhana, by Vice President of the Students Council Dr. Joe Merry George and event coordinators Dr. Dipal Patel and Ms. Hina Patel.

Tree Plantation

To save the nature and gift something to mother earth in return SEMCOM observed tree plantation day. Students took a step towards society to save the Mother Earth. Students from all streams of the college are involved, so that they can be sensitise towards environmental issues. Tree plantation was organised in Bharoda Village in association with Gayatri Parivar on 5th February, 2025 at Bharoda Village. The objective of tree plantation program is to create awareness about environment, conservation of our natural resources and to mitigate prevailing challenge of global warming. The event was coordinated by Dr Dipal Patel, Ms. Hina Patel under the guidance of Dr. Joe Merry George, Vice President of Students’ Council and Principal Dr. Preethi Luhana.

NSS Annual Camp

NSS unit of SEMCOM organized a seven days camp at Bharoda Village. Various activities were carried out during those seven days. These activities were Traffic awareness Campaign, Cleanliness Drive, Village Correspondence, Rally with Play cards, National Road Safety Drive, Prabhat Pheri, Prayer and Planning Meeting, Fire Safety Training, Rural Entrepreneurship, Training on Interview Skills, Street Play on Addiction Eradication, Running Competition of School Kids, Student Interaction, ABHA card Registration, Village Contact, Report Meeting, Full Body Check-up, Oral Hygiene, Organic Farming, Dental Check-up, Day Care Visit, Self Defense Training, Self-Management Session, Tree Plantation, Cosmetics & Personal Care Workshop, First Aid Session and CPR Training, Social Service through Relationship Management, Eye Check-up, Cyber Security Session, Social Media Marketing Session, Local-Cultural Event, Beti Bachao -Beti Padhao.
